Spiritual Warfare with Dr. Dan Schneider – Part 2

Sep 25, 2025

Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”

In Part 2 of this powerful conversation, Beth and Dr. Dan Schneider talk about one of the most important battlegrounds for spiritual warfare: the home. While many people think of spiritual warfare in terms of exorcisms and dramatic stories, Dr. Dan reminds us that the fight for holiness often begins in the ordinary rhythms of family life—through prayer, fasting, and reclaiming the spiritual authority God has given us.

The Adamic Temptation to Silence
One of the key concepts Dr. Dan introduces is what he calls the Adamic Temptation to Silence. Going back to Genesis 3, Adam failed to speak and act when the serpent tempted Eve in the Garden of Eden. That same temptation toward silence and passivity, Dr. Dan explains, still wounds men today. Fathers and husbands are called to be spiritual protectors, but the enemy often works to keep them silent when their voice and leadership are needed most.

By stepping back into their God-given authority through prayer, fasting, and the sacraments, men can reclaim their role as spiritual leaders in the home.

Fasting as a Spiritual Weapon
Beth and Dr. Dan explore how fasting plays a critical role in breaking spiritual sloth and revealing hidden vices. When we fast, we weaken the hold of sin, reorder our desires toward God, and invite grace into places the enemy wants to occupy. As Dr. Dan points out, Jesus Himself taught in Mark 9:29 that “this kind can come out only by prayer and fasting.”

Practical Tools for Families
This episode isn’t just about theory—it’s packed with practical steps families can take to strengthen their spiritual lives, including:

  • Deliverance prayers that invoke the authority of Christ.

  • Naming and renouncing sins out loud to break the enemy’s hold.

  • Building habits of prayer, confession, and sacramental life in the home.

  • Reclaiming order and authority as spiritual protection for the family.

Why Authority Matters
Dr. Dan emphasizes that spiritual authority flows from God through rightful order in the family. When fathers and husbands embrace their role, families experience greater spiritual protection and unity. Authority isn’t about domination—it’s about sacrificial love, prayerful leadership, and standing firm against the enemy on behalf of those we love.

If you want to understand spiritual warfare in practical terms—and learn how to fight for your family with fasting, prayer, and faith—this episode will equip you for the battle.
