Christmas Episode: Fit for the King Holiday Eating
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”
– 1 Corinthians 15:58
Merry Christmas! Today we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ—the Word made flesh, the Infant King who sanctified the human body by becoming human Himself. This is the day heaven and earth meet. And as Catholics, we don’t just celebrate—we embody it. Christmas calls us to live “fit for a King”: ordered, joyful, and radiant with virtue.
The Incarnation tells us that our bodies are holy ground. God Himself took on flesh—He walked, ate, and slept like us. So how we care for our bodies, even during the holidays, becomes a way to glorify Him.
Movement is obedience. Feasting in moderation is worship. Prayer transforms habit into holiness. When we combine movement, food, and the sacraments, we live sacramentally—body, mind, and soul moving toward Christ.
St. John Paul II reminds us that “the body is the sacrament of the person.” Our very appearance preaches the Gospel. So this Christmas, let your peace, your discipline, and your joy announce that the King has come.
The Eucharist is Bethlehem reborn—the same Jesus who lay in the manger comes again to us in the Host. The feast on your table points to this greater feast. So celebrate, but stay rooted. Feast well, rest in grace, and keep your gaze on the Christ Child.
