“However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.” –Matt 17:21

The new year has begun!

There is something so special about new beginnings. I think of fresh starts, blank pages, new goals, and grand opportunities. People are purchasing new journals, gym memberships, and writing down their goals for the year—usually including some type of weight loss or health goal.

We tend to focus on our bodies, but what about our souls?

We are made in the image and likeness of God. We are a composite of body and soul that is so finely integrated that the two entities cannot be separated until earthly death. And, what if I told you that you can also affect other people’s bodies and souls by your goals? What if God was to offer you a two for one, so to speak?

What if the answer was to definitely get that gym membership, the journal, and write down all those goals, and consider all the innovative opportunities that are coming into your mind this new year, but in the light of God’s will for you, for your dreams, and when things get tough as they often do, offering up that suffering for your loved ones as well?

Yes, permanent weight loss and health are possible through loving yourself as God loves you and suffering for others that are closest to you, too.

I propose something new for you to discover and begin this new year: Permanent weight loss and health for yourself through spiritual fasting for others. Healthy permanent weight loss is one of the most loving things you can do for yourself. Ridding yourself of the vice of gluttony is a HUGE step towards living a happy and holy life. A simple way to achieve this is to fast off sugar, flour, and alcohol for a time.

For the next 21 days—January 1st through January 21st—My husband and I will be fasting off sugar, flour, and alcohol for the spiritual purpose of defending Life.

My life. Your life. The lives of all mothers and fathers. The lives of all babies—born and unborn. The life of every doctor, nurse, medical professional, and Supreme Court Justice who will be considering where they stand on the case of Life this year. Join me as I kickstart 2022 with a 21 Day Fast for Life.

This is a fast for everyone who has ever been involved in an abortion in any way. This is a fast of love—for hearts of forgiveness, for turning the culture back to God, for tender loving mercy, and courageous decisions for defending Life.

The annual March for Life will be held in Washington DC on January 21st. I won’t be there this year but have attended so many times in the past. We offer a prayerful fast for all who will be attending the rally in peaceful protest of Roe v Wade. We can turn the tide of this decision—not just for this law. But, for all hearts to be turned towards God in this nation. For Freedom and life for all people—both born and unborn.
