January-The Door to the New Year
“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”
– Matthew 5:8
January is not just the beginning of a new year—it is a doorway. The Church gives us Epiphany at the threshold of the year to remind us that Christmas is not the end of the story. It is the beginning of a mission.
In this episode of the Delay and Pray Podcast, we reflect on Epiphany as the revelation of Christ to the nations and the response that revelation demands of us as we enter a new year. Beth explores how Epiphany reveals Jesus as Lord for all people and asks how we will respond now that He has been made known to us, how the gifts of the Magi—gold, frankincense, and myrrh—teach us to offer love, continual prayer, and fasting as participation in Christ’s life, and how spiritual fasting reorders desire, transforms suffering into gift, and sends us home by another way, changed by encounter with Christ.
Help Beth reach her goal of bringing 1 Million Catholics back to the Church
