Miracles and Weight Loss with Christine Canino
“What we need most in order to make progress is to be silent before this great God with our appetite and with our tongue, for the language he best hears is silent love.“
– St. John of the Cross
Today, we are joined by Delay and Pray alumni Christine Canino, a member of the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites. She has been a Third Order Carmelite since 2016.
Christine shares her journey of losing 30 pounds through spiritual fasting and discusses the impact of the program on her physical and spiritual well-being.
We discuss topics such as finding moderation in feasting, offering up suffering, and the role of prayer in achieving both physical and spiritual goals.
Christine began the Delay and Pray program 18 months ago and she shares how she is still learning what’s best for her body. Especially when circumstances are out of our control, it’s crucial to evaluate our thoughts and make changes to our protocol to learn about our body’s needs.
In terms of feasting, Christine so beautifully shares how she has learned that feasting extends beyond food and can involve activities that involve connection with others.
Christine excitedly shares one of her many miracle stories with us, and it filled my heart with joy. I hope you are encouraged by her journey and how the Lord works in wonderful ways. Miracles are happening all around us and the Lord cannot be outdone in generosity.
Join us as we unpack the practical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of fasting and feasting, and explore the miracles experienced along the way.
