“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

In this episode of the Delay and Pray® podcast, Beth interviews her client Kathleen, a remarkable woman with a story of resilience, faith, and transformation. Kathleen’s journey is one of overcoming challenges, embracing her faith, and finding true strength in the midst of hardship.

Breaking Free from Diet Mentality

Kathleen’s struggles with food and dieting started, as it does for many women, in the fifth or sixth grade. She found herself trapped in the cycle of dieting, constantly searching for a way to control her eating habits. She had tried different programs, including Weight Watchers and keto, but nothing seemed sustainable.

It wasn’t until she found Delay and Pray® that everything changed. With the guidance of Beth’s program, she embraced a new mindset – one that wasn’t just about food but about transforming her thoughts, habits, and faith. The Thomistic thought model taught in the program helped her shift her perspective on hardships, not just related to food but in all aspects of life. She discovered that she could reframe her thoughts and emotions to align with her faith, making her weight loss journey a spiritual transformation rather than just a physical one.

A Life-Altering Moment

Kathleen’s story takes a profound turn when she shares her experience of facing an unplanned pregnancy after being sexually assaulted in college. At just 20 years old, she found herself in a situation that would challenge her in ways she never expected. Raised in a strong Catholic family, Kathleen knew that abortion was not an option for her. Even in the face of fear, uncertainty, and societal pressure, she chose life for her baby.

Through a series of miraculous events, she found the perfect adoptive parents for her son. She wanted him to grow up in a devout Catholic family with strong values, and she trusted that God had a plan. Despite the overwhelming emotions of giving birth and placing her baby for adoption, she held onto the belief that will and reason supersede emotion.

The Beauty of Open Adoption

Kathleen’s decision led her to an open adoption, allowing her to maintain a connection with her son. Over the years, their relationship flourished.

His presence in her life is a testament to the beauty of choosing life, even in the most challenging circumstances. His gratitude for her decision and his faith-filled upbringing affirm the incredible impact of Kathleen’s courageous choice.

Embracing the Hard Things

Kathleen’s story is a powerful reminder that we are all capable of doing hard things. Whether it’s making difficult life decisions, overcoming food struggles, or surrendering our fears to God, we are never alone in our journey. The Delay and Pray® program has reinforced this truth for Kathleen, teaching her that faith, discipline, and a renewed mindset can lead to profound transformation.

A Story of Hope and Inspiration

Kathleen’s journey is one of hope, faith, and perseverance. Her willingness to share her story is a gift to women everywhere who may find themselves in seemingly impossible situations. She reminds us that God always has a plan, even when we can’t see it in the moment. Her story is a testament to the power of trusting in His divine wisdom and choosing virtue over impulse.

As she continues her journey in Delay and Pray®, Kathleen embraces the mindset shift that is leading her to greater health, deeper faith, and a more fulfilling life. Her courage and resilience serve as an inspiration to all of us who are striving to overcome our own struggles.

If you’re feeling stuck in your own journey – whether with food, faith, or life’s challenges – Kathleen’s story is proof that transformation is possible. Keep going. Keep trusting. And remember, we can do hard things.
